Scott R. Treiber was most recently President of Risk Placement Services Standard Lines division, an Arthur J. Gallagher subsidiary. An acknowledged industry leader in small family-owned agencies and distribution management with insurance carriers, Scott provides over 40 years of insurance experience to TAP. He brings with him a stellar business career and exemplary record in professional, community and philanthropic leadership.

Scott graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Finance and Insurance in 1981. He worked his way up the ladder within his family business, The John Treiber Agency Inc., beginning his insurance career in the mail room. Over the next two decades, he raised through the ranks and became President of the Treiber Agency Group, the wholesale division of the Treiber Group, LLC.

Scott grew the business from a Long Island-based family company to one composed of over 500 Retail Agents in 6 states. He developed, implemented, and supervised strategic plans focused on long-term growth, quality service, and maximizing the profitability of the agency. In his role as President and Director, he served as the primary liaison between the agency and local and national senior insurance industry C-level executives.

In 2009, Scott and his partners successfully merged the Treiber Agency Group with Arthur J. Gallagher’s wholesale division, Risk Placement Services. As President he continued to grow the business and, in his tenure, saw expansion to over 3000 Agencies in 48 states.  Furthermore, with a considered and innovative eye for the future, he participated in and became an integral member of Arthur J. Gallagher’s Executive and Strategic planning committees. 

When not working in insurance, Scott has participated in numerous not-for profits on Long Island and in his hometown of Oyster Bay. He currently sits on the Episcopal Diocesan Council, the Family and Children’s Association Executive Committee, is Vice President of Episcopal Ministries of Long Island, and was a Founding Member of the Long Island Insurance Committee to Benefit the United Way of Long Island.

Scott has been married to his wife Jo-Ellen, whom he met at The John Treiber Agency, for 35 years. They have four sons, Thomas, William, Matthew and James. Three are currently in the insurance industry. An avid outdoorsman, Scott finds his passion bird hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing and spending time in the Adirondack Mountains.
